Hailing from Mexico, has delivered one of the best musical creations this year in the symphonic metal realm. Although criminally underrated, this concept album brings you powerful orchestral arrangements, recurring motifs, epic choirs, pre-Hispanic instrumentation which adds a very different flavour, power metal moments sprinkled in there and, at the forefront, Anna Fiori’s majestic, glorious vocal range (with occasional growls too) guide the whole piece. The music is mysterious, melodic, haunting, heavy, mystical and cinematic to perfectly set the scene. It’s hard to find albums that are as consistently good as this one, especially without label backing, but will keep you interested from start to finish.
gives you a glimpse into the Aztec world because Metztli is the goddess of the moon in Aztec mythology, and the lyrics on the album are in Spanish and Nahuatl (the language of the Aztecs). Immerse yourself in the tour de force that is !
