Folks at MTV announced ahead of this weekendâs Video Music Awards (VMAs) that there will be a star-studded performance to honor the life and legacy of the late Ozzy Osbourne. According to a press release from the cable company that used to play music, the segment will feature Aerosmithâs Joe Perry and Steven Tyler, Ozzyâs protege Yungblud, and Extreme axeman Nuno Bettencourt.
The press release specifically states that those named artists, along with some others, will be âcoming together for a once-in-a-lifetime performance honoring the legendary âPrince of Darknessâ and metal luminary with a medley of his greatest hits.â
Just looking at the list they provided, it makes sense. Tyler, Yungblud, and Bettencourt all performed at âBack to the Beginningâ, with the latter two being part of the now iconic performance of âChangesâ (which Iâm sure is what theyâll do at the VMAsâŠ).
This yearâs VMAs will be live this Sunday, September 7 on CBS and MTV at 8 p.m. The event will take place at New Yorkâs UBS Arena, with LL Cool J serving as the showâs master of ceremonies. Most of whatâs going on wonât matter to us at all, so either spend time watching that mainstream gruel or wait until we inevitably post the performance here the following day. Up to you.
