Testament Guitarist Eric Peterson Addresses Floor Jansen Collaboration Rumours

If part of the reason you were excited about the new Testament record was because of the suspected collaboration with Nightwish’s vocalist Floor Jansen, then I’m sorry to tell you but don’t wait up.

In a new interview with Scars and Guitars podcast, Testament guitarist Eric Peterson officially confirmed that Floor Jansen will not be featuring on their forthcoming album. He explains that the singer felt a change in spirit towards the idea after the word got out to fans too early.

Peterson says,

“No, that’s not gonna happen. It was something that was being discussed, and I think it got out there before it was agreeable. And I think she got a little upset — from what I was told. I don’t know. This is all hearsay for me. But I think it was too much. And she’s, like, ‘I didn’t even… I mean, I was talking about [doing it], yeah, but I don’t…’

She would’ve been great on this song, by the way. This song would’ve been perfect for her. And then we were, like, ‘Let’s find someone else.’ And I’m, like, ‘If anybody’s gonna do it, it’s gonna be her. And if not…’ Chuck sounds great on his own on it. It’s a ballad. It’s really good. It doesn’t really need another singer, but it could have been cool with Floor.”

In other Testament news, the band has made some changes to their Thrash Of The Titans European Tour. Previously, they had announced Louisiana extreme metalheads Goatwhore as their support acts, but due to a change of circumstances, thrash metal tyrants Nervosa will replace them. Alongside the already-announced Obituary and Destruction. Check out the full list of dates below.
