Norway’s Funeral released their new record The Gospel Of Bones in 2024, but that’s not all they had up their collective sleeve! Funeral is back with a surprise new EP called The Funereal sung entirely in Faroese. The EP is one 18-minute long crusher of a song called “Gamalt ljós” (or “Old Light” in English) plus an acoustic reinterpretation of “Når Kisten Senkes”, a standout track from Gospel of Bones.
The Funereal EP was produced, mixed, and mastered by Marius Strand at Strand Studio. The EP also features guest vocals from Jón Aldará (Barren Earth, Hamferð, Iotunn). Stream it in all its miserable glory right here.
