Gridlink’s final bell is still ringing in my ears, and already we have a successor. And not in name only – or rather, only not in name, as this is Barren Path, but 60% of this band is 75% of Gridlink, and you can tell. 40% of Barren Path is also 50% of Maruta, but that’s getting too complicated. The one outlier is guitarist Rory Kobzina, probably best known for his work with Bea$ters, though he contributed some new guitar tracks to Gridlink’s Perfect Amber set earlier this year, so we’re still within the family. At any rate, I see Takafumi Matsubara’s name on something, I pounce.
